The Krewe of The Scarlett Fortuna is completely made of Volunteers that have come from all different walks of life to share in the same vision. Our passion for education, history, and reading help bring literature to life one 'R' at a time! We are always looking to expand our crew of Volunteers looking to create memories as they embrace what it means to become a pirate.
Our history
Our Organization first became a Florida Nonprofit in 2011 as we began to work within the local community bringing the joy of reading to life themed as a pirate krewe. Our events have taken a life of their own and expanded across the entire state!
As of 2018, we filed for our 501(c)3 Nonprofit status. Our collection of volunteers continue to expand, launch, and create new programs to teach children about the Golden Age of Piracy, the importance of reading, and of course what it means to work together as a crew.
Our mission
We the Krewe of the Scarlett Fortuna birthed in Pinellas, Florida work towards promoting education and reading among school age children by partnering with charitable organizations and foundations, performing themed events, and bringing their literature alive. Collectively as a Krewe, we strive to earn funds to assist with our events and donations to further our cause as we work to restore the fun and excitement in learning by promoting their literature one 'R' at a time.
